Steamed Pork Buns- (Bánh Bao)

Steamed Pork Buns- Bánh Bao


Yields about 8-10 buns

Ingredients

Yeast Mixture:
1 cup luke warm milk (you can substitute with water if you’re lactose intolerant)
2 tsp dry instant yeast
1 tbsp sugar
½  tsp salt

Flour Mixture: 
3.5 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½  cup sugar
2 tbsp olive oil

Filling Mixture:
1/4 lb minced pork
1/4 lb minced chicken
2 sticks Chinese sausage
1 can quail eggs (can substitute with 4 regular eggs)
½ cup shitake mushroom
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp of soy sauce
2 tbsp tapioca starch
1 tsp of vegetable mix (I’ll need to find a picture of this)
¼  tsp pepper
½ tsp salt
½ tsp of powdered garlic
½  cup diced red onion
